Joystick Mapper App Reviews

This app is amazing. It is very easy to use and is way better than the other ones out there. I recently bought Joi but could not figure out how to use it. Also, Joi does not come with mouse support. This is, unlike some of the other reviews have said, very easy to use.

My Nyko playpad is connected in HID mode and it is not recognized by the app :(

It works great with my Retrolink Gamecube Controller, however the interface is a little hard to figure out.

I connected some Wii Remotes with WJoy and Joystick Mapper tells me I don’t have any controllers connected. A refund would be nice.

If i pay for a service I want whats coming to me. I bought a PS3 controller exclusivly to play my platformer games on my mac. Now keep in mind even used PS3 controllers are a grip(expensive$35). Worked great for a WEEK. All of a sudden my controller wouldn’t communicate to the app. I’ve been researching how to try do do work arounds. Mind you my profession is multimedia. This is driving me crazy. I shouldn’t need to do this after paying for a service.

everything works except preloads. so just extra time to configure for me.

I used this app to be able to use my Razer Sabertooth gampad, it couldn’t even recognize the device, the applicatio is also a little complicated, needs UI enhancment and some clear direction to use this app. Don’t buy if you want to use this app with Razer gampads!

I almost did not buy this app because of the bad reviews but glad I did anyways. It’s easy to setup and it works, not sure what else we can ask for :) Thanks!!!

This app is amazing. Im willing to pay $5 for this. Seriously. There are other free controller mapping apps, but they all are pretty bad *cough, cough* controller mate *cough cough*. A lot of people wrote negative reviews about this because it doesnt support all game controllers, but I like it because I know you guys are gonna update anyways. Those people are just not pacient. If the wii controller doesnt work, Im just pacient and I wait for the update with the wiimote. Meanwhile, I use the xbox and playstation controllers.

i only needed like 1 minute to understand how to set everything up on my own. the 1 thing i did have to go to the official website to find out more was how to actually activate the preset once i created it. i guess it was RIGHT there but i didn’t think the empty box was a checkmark box to activate the preset….lulz. man, this is such an underrated and inexpensive app that can work wonders in the hands of creativity. i plan on using my ps4 controller now as basically my music production controller, my mouse/browser when I want to just sit back in my chair. (i just thought about buying a pico projector like the new Asus S1 to project onto my ceiling so basically I can just work on my laptop in bed, using my ps4 controller easily.) SO RELAXED AND NOICE. you the man Rocha

I bought a Logitech F310 to use as a controller for my mac, but it did not work out of the box for some games (e.g. Bioshock Infinite), so I downloaded Joystick Mapper to emulate the keyboard + mouse. Works great so far. I did need to configure a custom preset that I based on one of the examples (Example: FPS), but that did not take too much time. I recommend visiting this apps site and looking over the documentation there if youre confused as to how to set it up.

I was skeptical about wasting money, but this was incredibly easy. I trusted the reviews!

DONT BUY! I have an XBOX360 controller connected and it does not notice it. Complete waste of money.

what a waste of 5 bucks. I would like my money back.

Have tried both an official Dualshock 3 controller and official Dualshock 4 controller (both of which were paired properly with my computer via bluetooth), and this app will not map either of them. It only recognizes the controller inputs MAYBE five percent of the time if at all. I paid my money, and this app simply doesn’t do what it claims to. Honestly, the people who have made this app should be ashamed. It’s apps like this one that make the Mac App Store and very shady and untrustworthy place.

Ive tried a couple of the presets and even tried to customize one of my own. It is complicated and confusing and if anyone knows how to make a ps3 controller work for l4d2 please tell me because I can not find any other method that works. This app is a waste of $5 and I am jelaous of the people who have gotten it to work. I dont think this app is worth anywhere near $5.

This exceeds expectations! I was hesitant at first, but it turned out to be awesome! It supports my afterglow xbox 360 controller and works swimmingly. They have wonderful help on their website as well!

the only reason this gets four stars (i love this), is that the mouse will sometimes leave the game and pull up the bottom or side dock and the top will drop down. for some reason it wont stop doing that. it may be just poor programmign on the games end and not he controller but my mouse doesnt do that and yet this does. but if there was a collider where the mouse would have to stop on the controller, that would be awesome. that way it doesnt leave the designated area of play and bring the dock out or the above bar options. you may have to fiddle with the mac settings for this one.

Worked better than I could have hoped, mapping a Logitech Gamepad F310 to keyboard keys, modifiers, mouse wheel, mouse motion and mouse clicks. Now my daughter can cruise around in Minecraft with nothing more than the gamepad and full control of the options. The mapping UI was intuitive and powerful, and in practice it all just worked!
